Taweep should be assisted in the battle against AIBA, says writer

The relevant parties should help Thailand's boxing chief General Taweep Jantararoj in fighting the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA), says a sport writer.

The dispute between AIBA and General Taweep remains unsettled and may affect the future of Thai athletes in AIBA’s events, said a sport columnist at Thai newspaper Khaosod who goes by the alias “Pao Paek”.

He said General Taweep’s high-profile bashing on the neutrality of AIBA officials in the Beijing Olympic Games was very much a “beating the snake on its tail” that upset the AIBA executive board and resulted in series of retaliation attempts on the general.

The columnist recited that the furious AIBA first exacted a disciplinary punishment on General Taweep and tried to boot him out of the association’s board, but the Thai boxing chief filed the case to a court, which ordered the punishment to be changed from discharge to “temporary suspension” from the board.

AIBA also sent letters to its members to forbid them from participating with the activities of the Federation of ASEAN Amateur Boxing, which is chaired by General Taweep.

The writer said these actions revealed that AIBA would likely continue to pursue the campaign against General Taweep.

“In reality, it must be said that such international sport organization like AIBA would have its own ‘mafia’, but generally no one would be willing to speak out against it as each person would try to protect himself rather than aiming for the benefits of the many,” wrote Pao Paek.

However, he said the reckless General Taweep was thinking of the Thai athletes rather than himself when he spoke out against AIBA, which resulted in the series of harsh attacks on the general.

The writer suggested that the general should rally the members of the ASEAN boxing federation for “an uprising for justice and transparency that will benefit amateur boxing around the world”.

At the same time, the relevant parties in Thailand, especially the Thai National Olympic Committee, should cooperate to “rescue” General Taweep, rather than isolating him.

“Do not forget that amateur boxing in the Olympics has been on close watch due to its lack of transparency of the judges, to the point that the sport was nearly cut from the games,” he said.

He said the Olympic authorities as well as other parties may decide to join the fight against AIBA.

General Taweep is willing to sacrifice himself in the battle against AIBA and will likely hurt himself as a result, but at least the relevant authorities should act to ensure that AIBA too will suffer, concluded the author.

เหตุมาจากนายกสมาคมมวย เสื้อกล้ามไทย ทนไม่ไหวกับพฤติกรรมของบรรดาสิงห์เชิ้ตขาวตลอดจนผู้บงการ ที่เป็นตัวกำหนดผลการแข่งขันมวยในรายการใหญ่ๆ มาตลอด

ความกล้าของ "เสธ.วีป" เหมือนกับการกระหน่ำตีไปที่ขนดหางงูใหญ่ เล่นเอาบอร์ดบริหารฟีฟ่าพล่านกันไปหมด

เดือดดาลและหาทางเอาคืนนายกสมาคมมวยเสื้อกล้ามไทยไม่เลิกรา ปล่อยอาวุธออกมาเป็นระลอก เริ่มจากหนังสือซึ่งแจ้งเรื่องวินัยของไอบา และการสั่งหยุดพักงานของ "เสธ.วีป" ในไอบา

ทำให้นายกสมาคมมวยเสื้อกล้ามไทย ต้องดิ้นสู้เพื่อศักดิ์ศรีและชื่อเสียง ใช้อำนาจทางกระบวนการยุติธรรมเป็นที่พึ่ง

ล่าสุด ไอบาส่งหนังสือเวียนให้สมาชิกห้ามยุ่งเกี่ยวกับสหพันธ์มวยสากลสมัครเล่นอาเซียน ซึ่ง "เสธ.วีป"เป็นประธานอยู่

โดยหนังสือย้ำว่า สหพันธ์มวยสากลสมัครเล่นอาเซียน ไม่ได้รับการรับรองจากไอบา

แสดงให้เห็นชัดเจนว่า ไอบายังตามกัดตามจิกแบบไม่หยุดนิ่ง และไม่รู้ว่าจะส่งอาวุธอะไรออกมาอีก

ที่จริงในองค์กรกีฬาระดับโลก ต้องบอกว่ามีมาเฟียด้วยกันทั้งสิ้น

เพียงแต่ว่าหาคนกล้าที่จะออกมาแฉมาพูดไม่ได้แค่นั้นเอง

เป็นเพราะแต่ละคนห่วงผลประโยชน์ส่วนตัว มากกว่าส่วนรวม

ในขณะที่ "เสธ.วีป" พลาดท่าในครั้งนี้ เพราะมีผลประโยชน์ของนักชกไทย และประเทศไทย เป็นที่ตั้ง

ไม่ได้ห่วงว่า ถ้าพูดไปผลกระทบจะตกถึงตัวเอง

และก็โดนจริงๆ แบบอันลิมิต มีมาเป็นระยะๆ

ในฐานะที่ "เสธ.วีป" สหพันธ์มวยสากลสมัครเล่นอาเซียน ลองคิดและวางแผนดูซิว่า ทำอย่างไรให้ผนึกกำลังชาติสมาชิกในอาเซียน ตอบโต้และเรียกร้องให้ทุกชาติลุกขึ้นมาค้นหาความถูกต้องและความโปร่งใส

เพื่อเป็นผลดีกับวงการมวยเสื้อกล้ามทั่วโลก

ในขณะเดียวกัน เมื่อนายกสมาคมมวยเสื้อกล้ามไทยโดนอัดโดนตีในครั้งนี้ เพื่อปกป้องผลประโยชน์โดยรวมของนักชกไทย ที่สร้างความสุขให้กับคนทั้งชาติ จะถือเป็นการสู้เพื่อชาติก็ไม่ผิดนัก

หลายมือหลายไม้ควรรวมใจมาช่วยกู้สถานการณ์ อย่าต้องให้ "เสธ.วีป" เดินแบบโดดเดี่ยวเดียวดาย

โดยเฉพาะโอลิมปิคไทย ถ้ารับลูกดีๆ งานนี้มีเฮ

อย่าลืมว่ากีฬามวยสากลสมัครเล่นในโอลิมปิกเกมส์ เคยถูกจับตามองถึงการตัดสินที่ไม่โปร่งใส จนมีข่าวว่าจะตัดกีฬาชนิดนี้ออกไปจากรายการชิงเหรียญ

ถ้าช่วยกันกระหน่ำซ้ำแผลเดิม โอลิมปิกสากลรับลูกเล่นต่อ

มันน่าคิดใช่หรือไม่

เมื่อ "เสธ.วีป" เป็นนักรบ ที่ยอมตายคาสมรภูมิ เพื่อรักษาเกียรติของชาติ
