Thai amateur boxing chief General Taweep Jantararoj is again raising issues of transparency at the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA), while his court case against the association will be ruled on October 8.

According to the earlier reports, General Taweep, who is the president of the Amateur Boxing Association of Thailand (ABAT) and an executive committee member of AIBA, earlier filed a petition to the Lausanne Civil Court when he was “suspended” from his post at AIBA, following his criticisms on the neutrality of the association’s judges and officials at the Beijing Games in 2008.

The court has so far ordered AIBA to lift its suspension on the Thai boxing chief and is expected to give a ruling on the case on October 8, while General Taweep was recently reported by Khao Sod newspaper as saying that AIBA is receiving a number of complaints and protests on its judges. He also said some are requesting AIBA to review the results of matches at its recent boxing events and launch probes on certain officials.

The Thai chief said he believes AIBA president Ching Kuo Wu will try to find a way out from the situation as soon as possible as this could effect the next AIBA president election at the end of the year.

General Taweep reportedly said he does not want to criticize AIBA but said the recent AIBA championships in Milan, Italy, has shown AIBA’s fairness, or lack of.

"เสธ.วีป"พล.อ.ทวีป จันทรโรจน์ นายกสมาคมมวยสากลสมัครเล่นแห่งประเทศไทย กล่าวถึงทิศทางและอนาคตของวงการมวยสากลสมัครเล่นว่า ระยะหลัง จะเห็นได้ว่าจะมีการประท้วงและการยื่นหนังสือขอให้สหพันธ์มวยสากลสมัครเล่นทบทวนผลการตัดสิน หรือไม่ก็ขอให้ตรวจสอบพฤติกรรมของผู้ตัดสินเป็นรายบุคคล

เกี่ยวกับเรื่องนี้ตนเชื่อว่าทางประธานสหพันธ์มวยสมัครเล่น ชิง กัว วู ชาวไต้หวัน กำลังที่จะหาทางออกของปัญหาอย่างเร่งด่วน เนื่อง จากหากปล่อยจะส่งผลกระทบต่อการเลือกตั้งที่จะมีขึ้นในช่วงปลายปี ก่อนการแข่งขันกีฬาเอเชี่ยนเกมส์ ครั้งที่ 15 ที่จีน

นอกจากนี้ล่าสุดในการแข่งขันเวิลด์คัพนั้น นายกสมาคมมวยฯ กล่าวว่า คงจะเห็นได้ชัดว่ามาตรฐานและความถูกต้องมันอยู่ตรงไหน ดังนั้น ตนไม่อยากวิพากษ์วิจารณ์อะไรมาก ขอให้เวลาเป็นเครื่องพิสูจน์ ส่วนกรณีที่ตนได้ร้องต่อศาลที่สวิตเซอร์แลนด์ เกี่ยวกับการถูกสหพันธ์มวยสมัครเล่นนานาชาติ (ไอบา) สั่งห้ามยุ่งเกี่ยวกับองค์กร และล่าสุดเรื่องนี้ไอบาจะมีการพิจารณาและตัดสินในวันที่ 8 ต.ค.นี้
