Kameda, a Japanese word meaning “turtle”, is best known in boxing as name of a notorious Japanese boxing family, helmed by manager and trainer Shiro Kameda, his oldest son Koki Kameda who is holding the WBC flyweight title, his second son Daiki Kameda who has recently claimed WBA flyweight belt from Thailand’s Denkaosan Kaovichit, and his youngest son Tomoki Kameda who won a regional title from a fight in Mexico. 

Khao Sod sportswriter who goes by alias “Sodsroi Saosangwian” has summarized the relationship of the Kamedas and the Thai people and how they are perceived by the Thai media.

According to the writer, Shiro has been remembered for telling Daiki to use elbows and other prohibited moves against fellow Japanese pugilist Daisuke Naito when the two fought on October 11, 2007.

Shiro’s instruction to Daiki in the ring was clearly heard by the television audience, resulting in the Japan Boxing Commission (JBC) banning him from his training career indefinitely. 

The Kamedas, however, is currently enjoying a golden time as Koki eventually stopped Naito and took the WBC title in October 2009, while Daiki similarly stopped Denkaosan and won the WBA belt earlier this month. 

Daiki vs. Denkaosan’s match on February 7 was mired with certain irregularities, including frequent interventions by the referee, but it led to a historic moment in the Japanese boxing when two brothers are holding world titles at the same time, said the writer. 

The Kamedas are not viewed so positively in Thailand, especially when their manager, Noriyuki Igarashi, claimed to the Japanese media that Denkaosan’s team illicitly used fake ID cards to bring hundreds of Thai people into the stadium to watch the match, resulting in him losing about five million yen from the frauds.

The columnist, however, pointed out that the seats in the event were numbered and if hundreds of Thais did enter the stadium without real tickets and seats, they would have been easily spotted in the event.

Adding insult to injury, Igarashi told the JBC to keep an eye on Thailand’s Pongsaklek Wonjongkam and his team. Pongsaklek, currently holding an interim title, will fight real title holder Koki in Japan on March 27. 

Petchyindee Promotion will be welcomed with some not-so-nice gestures from the Kamedas when they accompanied Pongsaklek to Japan, said the writer.

ความแสบสันต์ของตระกูล "คาเมดะ" ไม่จบเพียงเท่านั้น นายอิการาชิ ผจก.ในนามของคาเมดะ บ๊อกซิ่งยิม ให้ข่าวน.ส.พ.ญี่ปุ่นหลายฉบับลงข่าวกันครึกโครมว่า คณะนักชกไทย (เด่นเก้าแสน) ได้ใช้ไอดีการ์ดปลอมพาคนไทยเข้าไปเชียร์ในสนามราวๆ ร้อยกว่าคน ทำให้ตนเองในฐานะผู้จัดขาดทุนเป็นเงินถึง 5 ล้านเยน (ราวๆ 1,850,000 บาท) สร้างความเสื่อมเสียชื่อเสียงให้คนไทยขายหน้า ทั้งๆ ที่ในวันชกทุกคนก็นั่งตามลำดับที่นั่ง โดยไม่มีใครยืนดูเบียดเสียดบริเวณริงไซด์สักคน..!?!? 

เท่านั้นยังไม่พอ อิการาชิได้ฟ้องไปยังเจบีซี ให้ระมัดระวังเตรียมรับมือคณะนักชกไทยชุดต่อไปที่จะเดินทางไปชกกับโกกิ ในวันที่ 27 มี.ค. ที่โตเกียวอีกด้วย ซึ่งนั่นก็หมายถึง ทีมงานของ พงษ์ศักดิ์เล็ก ไก่ย่าง 5 ดาวยิม และโอเล่ห์ดง ซีพีเฟรชมาร์ท ที่จะเดินทางไปชกในรายการเดียวกัน..!!

ถือเป็น "งานเข้า" ที่ทีมงานเพชรยินดี จะโดนหางเลข..จากผลพวงความแสบสันต์ของนักชกจอมซ่าส์ ตระกูล "คาเมดะ" โดยแท้ทีเดียว...!!
