Olympic gold medalist boxer Somluck Kamsing says he will win the muaythai tournament in Turkey on November 1.

Four contenders will fight in the tournament held at Istanbul in Turkey on Saturday November 1. Asides from Somluck, two other fighters are also from Thailand - Ekkapol Poncharoen and Wehas Kingboxing. Thai promoter Peerapong Theeradetpong will also be at the tournament.

Somluck, who recently won a bout in London against England’s muaythai champion Kieren Keddle, said he would win the four-man tournament and take the prize of about half a million Baht.

“I am the hero, so it would tarnish my image if I did not become the champion [of the tournament]. With extensive experiences in muaythai and amateur boxing, I will win the tournament,” said Somluck who is often noted for his frequent phrase “I am not bragging”.

The fighter, however, admitted that he did not have much preparation, when compared to the London fight, due to his busy career as a muaythai trainer and a celebrity in the entertainment business.

He said his name “can still be sold well” and he was asked to fight in Paris on December 6 this year.

The first Olympic gold medalist of Thailand has quite a success in his bid to return to muaythai as fighter. Of all his recent five domestic and abroad bouts against fighters of various countries, he has won four fights and has only one draw from a match in Japan.
