Fighter Saenchai Sor Kingstar is confident he will be able to lose 6.5 kilograms to reach the same weight class as his opponent in the match on July 4, Wutthidet Lukprabaht.

The muaythai fans are eagerly counting down to the match on July 4 at Lumpini Stadium that will pit Saenchai against Wutthidet. Both fighters are famed champions and prides of their home provinces, Maha Sarakam for Saenchai and Sara Buri for Wutthidet.

Saenchai said he had been training hard for the past eight days without any injury or sickness and had reached about 70% of his physical potential. The fighter believed he would be able to reach the expected weight of 124 pounds.

“I must be able to reach 124 pounds, so that my fans could watch me fight with Wutthidej, and also for Sia Nao Petyindee who has been supporting me,” said the fighter.

“For my weight, it is exceeding the requirement by 6.5 kilograms which should be about 14-15 pounds. But I have been controlling my diet strictly. So my fans need not to worry. I am eating steaks everyday and the owner of steak house Thirteen Coins is taking care of me really well. I am also practicing grappling with my Westerner students who have large bodies.”

“I think I will reach 100% within this week then I will start losing the weight in the last week before the match,” said Saenchai.

The promoter of the match, Nattadej Wachirarattanawong or “Nong Boat”, said he had followed up on the progresses of each fighter closely. He confirmed there was no change to the scheduled matches.

The July 4 event would include matches of Petboonchu F.A. Group vs. Rungruenglek Lukprabaht, Dejnarong Sit Ja Boon vs. Sam-A Tor Rattanakiet, Chalermdej Sor Tawanrung vs. Pansak Luk Por Kor, Nong O Sit Or vs. Lo-ngen Por Muang Tungsong (Pitakkruchaidan), Rungpet Wor Sangprapai vs. Chatchai Sor Thanayong as well as the opening match of Panumrunglek Kiet Mu Kao vs. Nong Nan Kietpratu
