Olympics medalist and boxing training camp owner Somluck Kamsing, together with his brother Somrod Kamsing and Pongsit Wiengwiset, have filed fraud charges against two boxers of his camp, Kengkla Sor Kamsing and Nilmongkon Kaennorasing, at the police station in Bang Sue, Bangkok.

Fighter Kengkla confessed that he pretended to lose to Rungtanee Erawan in the match at Channel Seven Stadium on July 6. Kengkla said a certain police sergeant major had asked him several times to stage the fight. He eventually agreed with the police officer and accepted a 50,000 Baht deposit which was transferred into his account on June 30. Kengkla then transferred the money to his wife. The officer also told Kengkla that he would receive another 150,000 Baht after the match.

Pongsit said he noticed several anomalies of Nilmongkon’s fighting in the June 29 match at Channel Seven Stadium, where he lost to Sitthisak Petphayatai. After an interrogation by Pongsit, Nilmongkon, who lost to Sitthisak Petphayatai on June 29 at Channel Seven Stadium, confessed that he agreed to stage the fight for 100,000 Baht and had taken 10,000 as deposit.

Nilmongkon also said he had staged a fight in an earlier match against Pinsayam Sor Sirichoke at Lumpini Stadium on February 19 for 150,000 Baht. Nilmongkon implicated Kwanpichit Hor Pattanathai, a fighter who used to train in the same camp as Nilmongkon, as a witness to the bribery.

Somluck said he would continue to pursue the case and would send a letter to all boxing stadiums to inform of the incidents.

The Channel Seven Stadium has been mired with three different alleged frauds in the past two weeks. Asides from Kengkla and Nilmongkon, Yodchalam Rongreain Keela Krungthep also confessed that he was bribed to lose to Kingstar Petpayathai on June 29.
