The August 8 charity event at Lumpini Stadium will feature nine matches of Thailand’s top fighters including a rematch of Saenchai Sor Kingstar and Wutthidet Lukprabaht.

Saenchai earlier lost to Wutthidet in the much-anticipated Lumpini match on July 4. He attributed his defeat to the weight loss required for him in order to fight in Wutthidet’s class.

The Lumpini event on Friday August 9 will be held as a charity to raise funds for peacekeeping in the three southernmost Thai provinces. The event is organized by Pong Visedpaitoon, Chief Operating Officer of food producer Charoen Pokphand Foods plc., Lumpini chief Major General Tera Kripanon, and promoter Piyarat Wachirabunjong.

Pong asked the muaythai fans to wear yellow to the event and to make donation to the organizers. At the present, the donation has totaled two million Baht.

In addition to the star match of Saenchai vs. Wutthidet, the event will also feature eight other matches of top boxers such as the fight of southpaw veteran Sam-A Tor Rattanakiet and recent star fighter Pen-ek Sitnumnoi.

The other fights include Rungpet Wor Sangprapai vs. Prab Riflonia Sauna for the vacant super flyweight champion title, Tingthong Saengsawang Panpla vs. Saenkeng Jor Nopparat for the vacant bantamweight title, Lumpini featherweight champion Pansak Luk Bor Kor vs. challenger Mongkolchai Petsupapan, Lumpini bantamweight champion Puengnoi Petsupapan vs. challenger Rungruenglek Lukprabaht, Thailand’s super bantamweight champion Petboonchu F.A. Group vs. challenger Karnchai Fairtex, Thailand’s mini flyweight champion Chokechuai Petsiri Gym vs. challenger Nongbonlek Sitmutu, and Payanon Sor Thammarangsi vs. Jaipet Luk Porkhoon.

The three organizers have visited the boxers at the various training camps including Lukprabaht, Petsupapan, Sor Kingstar, Sitmutu, and Riflonia Sauna. They said all the fighters are of great conditions and high morale.
