JBC lifts ban on Chucharoen from matches in Japan

The Japan Boxing Commission (JBC) has lifted the ban on Thai promoter “Ang Mor” Chucharoen Rawee-aramwong from matches in Japan.

The JBC earlier announced the banning after Chucharoen arranged a bout in Thailand for Japanese champion Joichiro Tatsuyoshi. The former WBC bantamweight champion, 39, is barred from fighting due to JBC regulations that force Japanese boxers to retire at the age of 36.

JBC attempted to pressure against Tatsuyoshi’s arrangement in Thailand and had requested Jose Sulaiman of WBC to halt the match.

But the bout was held by Chucharoen anyway which was attended by a large number of Tatsuyoshi’s fans who flew from Japan. The Japanese champion won the fight, while the Thai promoter was reportedly able to collect nearly a million Baht.

JBC has lifted its announced banning on Chucharoen on the condition that the Thai promoter would not arrange another bout for Tatsuyoshi. The commission has also warned the boxing gyms in Japan to disallow Tatsuyoshi to use their facilities for training.
