The grudging muaythai fans successfully pressured Lumpini management to cut out on-probation fighter Fahmeechai F.A. Group from a scheduled match this Friday, despite the fighter’s plea. Fahmeechai earlier became a subject of jeering since his match on May 27 when he was seen as staging the fight. The fighter seemed to be withholding his strikes at first but then suspiciously knocked out his opponent all the sudden. Many spectators believed Fahmeechai was attempting to influence and take advantages of the gambling bids on his fight. His manager Sia Rium Borplaboonchu claimed he ordered Fahmeechai to save his energy as he was not physically ready due to a long absence from fighting. The Lumpini Stadium management launched an investigation into Fahmeechai’s match and ruled that the fighter was guilty. He was put on probation. Fahmeechai, however, was scheduled for a July 4 match in the Lumpini Champion Krikkrai Jor Por Lor Jet, a grand event featuring many top fighters. The schedule of the event was announced to the crowds at Lumpini Stadium by promoter Nattadej Wachirarattanawong, also known as “Nong Boat”, accompanied by many of the boxers who would fight in the event. The crowds booed when the spokesman announced Fahmeechai’s name and repeatedly chanted “Fahmeechai get out”. Despite attempts by Nattadej to distract the crowds and Fahmeechai’s plea by apologizing to the fans, the booing did not stop. Major General Methee Thamarangsi spontaneously interrupted the announcement and said he had decided to cut out Fahmeechai from the event. His announcement effectively turned the booing into applause.
