Veteran muaythai fighter Buakaw Por Pramuk has defeated India’s “Black Mamba” in a special bout of the K-1 tournament on Wednesday. Buakaw, a two-time K-1 world champion, was invited to be a guest fighter in a special bout of the K-1 World MAX 2008 Tournament Final with Kultar "Black Mamba" Gill on Wednesday October 1, although the Thai fighter was earlier out from the competition from a knockout defeat by Japan’s Yoshihiro Sato in a semifinal in July. In the bout against Black Mamba, held at Nippon Budokan stadium in Tokyo, Japan, Buakaw launched aggressive moves early on in the game and was able to knock out the Indian fighter by a combination of punches at 2.48 minutes of the first round. In the quarterfinals of the tournament, Sato, who beat Buakaw in the semifinal, lost to fellow Japanese fighter Masato Kobayashi by decision, while Ukrainian Artur Kyshenko bested former K-1 champion Andy Souwer of the Netherlands. Both matches ended up in close calls and were only decided by an extended round. In the final, Masato was able to utilize his superior experience to win the bout against Kyshenko by decision in the fourth round.
