The much-dreaded fist of Pornsaneh Sitmonchai has knocked out so many top muaythai fighters, but yet it failed to put down a new comer, the teenage Manasak Sitniwat, who apparently has a great potential to become the next muaythai legend some day, says columnist “Jeng Tha Prachan”.

Pornsaneh is best known for his trademark punch that has knocked out numerous fighters, including some of the best fighters in the modern time like Wutthidet Lukprabaht, Detnarong Sitjaboon, and Rungruenglek Lukprabaht, so it was not a surprise when he put Manasak down to the canvas in the middle of the first round at the Ratchadamnern-Lumpini cross-stadium match in Bangkok on August 7, said the writer.

However, the match did not end as abruptly as in some of Pornsaneh’s earlier fights. His opponent got back on his feet by the count of eight. From then on, the table was turned and some spectators could not believe that they witnessed the dreaded Pornsaneh being slaughtered by a new comer who is by all means still a teenager.

Manasak was utilizing his taller stature and long reach to launch full-scale attacks on Pornsaneh, but it was his knees that wear the veteran opponent out and secure him a victory.

Muaythai columnist Jeng said Manasak has proved himself, validating the prediction of the famed promoter Songchai Ratanasuban who said “this boy is the future of muaythai”.

Muaythai guru Pichet Ruean-in aptly nicknamed Manasak “the stud” at the moment the bout ended. Jeng apparently agreed and said Manasak is a rising star that is so bright it will blind the muaythai fans.

However, he pointed out that the real challenge for Manasak will not be winning more glamorous fights against older top fighters but is actually to survive the cruel test of time. He will be tested by not only opponents in the ring but also other obstacles and temptations outside it.

Many great fighters before him have already succumbed to these and never reached their full potential. It will be seen whether Manasak, the stud, will be able to rise to the pinnacle of muaythai or not.

แต่ มานะ ศักดิ์  ศิษย์นิวัฒน์ นักชกร่างโย่งวัยไม่ถึงยี่สิบปี เจอกำปั้นของ พรเสน่ห์ เข้าไปอย่างจัง ในยกแรก ก็ยังทนแทบไม่ไหว ต้องทรุดตัวลงไป แฟนมวยต่างก็ช่วยกันลุ้นว่าจะลุกขึ้นสู้ต่อไหวไหม เพราะเห็นว่ามีข่าวโปรโมตโฆษณาว่า เจ้าเด็กคนนี้จะเป็นยอดมวยไทยในอนาคต แต่มาเจอกำปั้นของ พรเสน่ห์ เข้าไปทีเดียวก็ทรุดฮวบไปเสียแล้ว ในขณะชกถึงแค่กลางยกแรก ในรายการ "ศึกยกทีมปะทะราชดำเนิน-ลุมพินี" ครั้งที่ 2 วันที่7 สิงหาคมที่ผ่านมา

แม้จะผ่านมา 2 สัปดาห์แล้ว แต่เชื่อว่าแฟนมวยยังจำภาพการต่อสู้ของนักชกทั้งสองคนได้

พรเสน่ห์ เสียเปรียบรูปร่างช่วงชกอยู่มาก ไม่อาจจะปล่อยหมัดให้เข้าเป้าได้ถนัดถนี่อีก จึงรับเข่าไปเสียอ่วมอรทัย ถูกบี้จนเรี่ยวแรงหมด จนครบยกต้องรับสภาพเป็นผู้ปราชัยอย่างไร้ข้อกังขา ด้วยสัดส่วนที่สูงถึง 182-183 เซนติเมตร แต่พิกัดชกแค่122 ปอนด์ ในปฐพีมวยไทยช่วงชกไม่มีใครเป็นรองใคร แถมสไตล์การชกก็ดุดัน

ทรงชัย รัตนสุบรรณ มองไม่ผิด และไม่ได้พูดเกินเลยไปจริงๆ ว่า "ไอ้หนูคนนี้ นี่มัน อนาคตยอดมวยไทยแน่ๆ"

มานะศักดิ์ ได้พิสูจน์ให้เห็นถึงหัวใจความเป็นนักสู้ เลือดทรหดให้เห็นแล้วว่ามันมีเค้าเป็นไปได้สำหรับคำว่าอยู่มวยไทย

"พ.พิรุณ" พิเชษฐ เรือนอินทร์ เอ่ยปากออกมาอย่างฉลับพลัน เมื่อเกมการชกจบลงว่า "มานะศักดิ นี่มันนักชกม้าลำพอง เลย "

แต่สำหรับ คำว่า ยอดมวยไทย แม้จะมีโอกาสเป้นไปได้สูง ทว่าถึงอย่างไรก็เห็นจะต้องพิสูจน์ให้เห้นถึงธาตุแท้อีกระยะหนึ่ง มันยังต้องเป็นเรื่องที่ยังต้องพิสูจน์กันต่อไปว่ากระดุกกระเดี้ยว จะแข็งพอไปถึงหรือไม่

คำว่า "ม้าลำพอง" ยังไม่สิ่งที่ยังชี้ขาดไม่ได้ว่า มานะศักดิ์ คือยอดมวยไทย เพราะยังมีองค์ประกอยอีกพอสมควร

ใครก็ตามที่จะก้าวเข้าสู้ ยอดมวยไทย อันทรงเกียรตินี้จำเป็นต้องให้มหาชนคนวงการมวยให้การยอมรับอย่างแท้จริง
