After traveling back from watching WBC 112-pound flyweight title defense fight which the belt holder, Naito Daisuke beat his compatriot, Daiki Kameda last October 11, “Sia Nao”, Mr. Virat Vajiratanawongse revealed that the rematch negotiation between Daisuke and “Jao-Korn” has been successful and Daisuke will definitely come to Thailand for the rematch around the beginning of next year. Hiruyuki Miyata has already sent confirm document and there is high possibility to move the fight schedule up from beginning of February to be the end of January 2008.
“Sia Nao” added that he has also been contacted from Japanese promoters to buy option 2 to send their Japanese and foreign boxers to fight with Daisuke and willing to pay more than seventeen million Baht. However, “Sia Nao” has already turned down this request because he wanted “Jao-Korn” to bring back this division champion to Thailand first and “Jao-Korn” himself will have a couple of fights in Japan after winning back the crown as he has been contacted from many promoters from Japan during his last visit. “Sia Nao” was confident that “Jao-Korn” will have a triumph over this rematch and will make more money. If they sell the option 2 and Daisuke lose, they were not sure when the rematch could be organized. Before the rematch, Pongsaklek had a warm-up match with Rey Megreno from the Philippines on October 24 at a makeshift ring in a local festival in Samutprakarn province presiding over Mr Anuwat Methewibul, the province governor, as the Event Administration President. The event included Wanheng Kratingdeang-Gym who hadhad his title defense to retain WBC 105-pound straw weight youth champion with Filipinos challenger, Arman dela Cruz.
