Muay Tu reporter Phonchai Udomsomphon did not quite get the unconventional payroll method of Lumpini Stadium.

As the stadium has a tradition of having reporters as official witnesses to its muaythai bouts, Phonchai was asked to sit for the muaythai light flyweight title bout of Fahrungrueng Sor Poonsawat and Mutu Kaiyanghadao Gym on July 21.

He might have done it before at Ratchadamnern, but this was his first time with Lumpini. The man had no clue the stadium prefers to slip the 2,000-Baht pay in the program leaflet, rather than handing it out directly to the reporters like Ratchadamnern would.

So, he threw the leaflet away when the bout was over and was wondering if the stadium was going to pay him, until Thai Rath’s Amonchai Phoemphoon revealed to him of Lumpini’s unconventional pay method.

Phonchai rushed back to where he left the leaflet just to find out someone had already taken it. Not only he lost money, the Muay Tu reporter had to endure some teasing from his peers.

To add insult to injury, a muaythai gym manager forgot a cash of 80,000 Baht at the ring. He went back to the stadium when it was already closed, and surprisingly found his money was still there.

Apparently, Phonchai’s cash of 2,000 Baht is more desirable than the 80,000 Baht of the manager’s.

ศักขีพยานมือใหม่

เมื่อวันที่ 21 ส.ค.ที่ผ่านมา ณ สนามมวยเวทีลุมพินี ได้มีการแข่งขันป้องกันแชมเปี้ยนมวยไทยรุ่นไลต์ฟลายเวทประเทศไทย ระหว่าง ฟ้ารุ่งเรือง ส.พูลสวัสดิ์ กับ มูตู ไก่ย่างห้าดาวยิม เวลามีการป้องกันหรือชิงแชมป์ จะต้องมีศักขีพยานที่เป็นนักข่าวในการแข่งทุกครั้ง

เรื่องก็มีอยู่ว่า พี่ใหญ่ มวยตู้ศักขีพยานมือใหม่ เพิ่งนั่งเป็นศักขีพยานครั้งแรก ไม่ทราบว่าสนามมวยลุมพินี เวลาให้ค่านั่งศักขีพยานจะพับใส่ในใบรายการ ซึ่งต่างจากเวทีราชดำเนินจะใส่ซ่องขาวให้ พอนั่งศักขีพยานสักพักก็มีเจ้าหน้าที่นำใบรายการใส่ค่านั่งศักขีพยานมาให้ พี่ใหญ่ไม่ทราบรับมาแล้วก็วางไว้ที่โต๊ะ โดยไม่ทราบว่าข้างในเป็นเงินค่านั่งศักขีพยาน แล้วแถมยังนึกในใจว่า "เอาใบรายการมาให้กูทำไมว่ะ"

พอนั่งศีกขีพยานเสร็จก็ลุกไปโดยไม่สนใจใบรายการนั้นเลย ผ่านไปจนถึงคู่เอก พี่ใหญ่ก็เลยเดินไปถามพี่ชัย ไทยรัฐว่า "พี่ครับ เค้ารับค่านั่งศักขีพยานที่ไหนครับ" พี่ชัยก็ตอบว่า "เค้ายื่นให้ตั้งแต่ตอนนั่งศักขีพยานแล้ว พับใส่ใบรายการไงส่วนของเวทีมวยราชดำเนินจะใส่ซ่องขาว" พอพี่ใหญ่ได้ยินเช่นนั้น ก็วิ่งไปที่ที่นั่งศีกขีพยานทันที

ก็พบใบรายการที่พับวางอยู่ที่เดิม แต่ไม่มีเงินอยู่แล้ว คาดว่าคนที่มานั่งต่อ หรือกรรมการอาจจะเก็บไปทำให้พี่ใหญ่ เลยอดค่านั่งศักขีพยาน จนโดนคนในของสื่อแซ่วว่าเป็นค่าขึ้นครูครั้งแรกแล้วกัน เพราะจะไปตามที่ไหนก็ไม่ได้
