"Muaythai Amateur", problem which last long more than a decade.

In 1990, General Vorayuth Meesommon, set up Muaythai Amateur Association of Thailand, for the first time. The organisation carried on many activities for years before it was ratified by the Sport Authority of Thailand in six years later.

The first problem was started when General Thienchai Sirisamphan was set up the International Muaythai Association and organized International Muaythai Championship every two years by invitation Muaythai associaitons from other countries excepted Muaythai Amateur Associaiton of Thailand.

Vorayuth then set up Muaythai Confederation and Asian Muaythai Amateur Confederation.

All four organisations independently held their activities but they were trying to accuse each other.

General Chaiyasit Shinawatra later became the chairman of International Muaythai Association while Santipab Intarapat became the chairman of Muaythai Amateur Associaiton.

At this time, there are many suggested that the two should be merged into one organisation under the name of "World Muaythai Confederation" in the hope that Muaythai would be included in Olympic.

The problem was likely to be solved peaceful but Santipab was changed the name of association to be only Muaythai Association of Thailand. The decision which the Sport Authoritiy of Thailand said it was violated the regulations. The it certified the new "Muaythai Amateur Associaion of Thailand", which was set up by Sakchai Thapsuwan, instead.

The problem escalted when Muaythai was set in the Asian Indoor Game and Sea Games which both associations were fighting hard to be the association represented their boxers.

Santipab claims he has right according to the Olympic Thailand while Sakchai denies to follow any decision except from the Sport Authorities of Thailand.

They both have different points of views, they both have different stands. Its were the main reasons why the problem could not be sovled.

One was trying to asked General Association of International Sports Federation (GAISF) to certify Muaythai into Olympic while the other side was lobbying GAISF to withdraw it.

That why Muaythai never been in Olympic!

It came out that the new Minister for Sport and Tourism was likely to be Veerasak Kaosurat rather than Somsak Prissananantakul.

It does not matter who will become new minister but the new minister should interested have real interested in sports. For Pongsaklek Kratingdang Gym, Rattanachai Singwangcha, Terdsak Poon Insee Gym, will they become champions or only challengers.

Fans will know by March. Muaythai can be called as one of main export products for the country, generated several ten million baht a year.

Become Muaythai boxers now are not as difficult as it was in the past. Among those famouse boxers were included Buakhao Por Pramuk, Kaoklai Kannorasing, Sirimongkol Singmanasak.

Those boxers can be guarantee their qualities. With high payments, those boxers can be fight only three times a year.

However, the most important thing for those who show their performances aboard, was fitness. If they fit, they could shown their best performances and it would be good for every one concerned with Muaythai.

Thais welcome the 25th Prime Minister Samak Sudaravej, the first elected leader since coup in past 16 months.

New Prime Minister, New Government, New Cabinet and New Ministers.

There are many candidates for new Sports and Tourism minister.Among the candidates were Prasit Pataraprasit, Somsak Prisananantakul, Suradej Piyasawasdi and Surasak Kaosurat. For the outgoing minister Suvit Yodmanee even his performance was not outstanding but it was not too bad.

There was only one thing that many people who involved with sports were not happy with the outgoing minister. It was the idea to cut the prize rewards for athletes in every competitions.

No mention about the conflicts with Olympic Thai committee and Sports Association of Thailand board. He was trying to support boxing by supporting budget but it could be done only few times before everything turns to normal as it never happened.

It was a good example when Songchai Rattanasuban decided to change his boxing programme amid the concern of the possibility to violate the election law.

The Olympic Qualification first leg was finally started and became the highliht tournament for Thai fans to keep watching that the three boxers will possibly book their places for final in Beijing.

As host nation, Thai boxers will recieve big supports for the fans but anything can happened.

For the last boxer, Suriya Prasarthinpimai, who is not fit enough for this leg, will be participated in the second leg in Kazakhstan in March.

It will be a tough job and he could not blamed anyone but himself if he fails to reach the final.

There is six month countdown to Olympic 2008. Thai boxing amateur was Thailand's highest hope for gold medals but Thai athletes for weightlifting and Takwando also have big chances.

None of Thai boxers succeed in challenging fightings last year. There are three - Pongsaklek Kratingdang Gym, Rattanachai Singwangcha and Terdsak Pooninsee Gym were all on the queue challenging for big champions in March.

The registration for senator election was quietly but for the nomination process of senator was lively when at least three boxing people have been supported for the possition.

The new government was almost in place but the name of people who will become next minister for sport and tourism still unclear.

Even name of General Chetta Tanajaro early emerged to be the top candidate but until now anything can change and happened.

The Olympic qualification first round is about to start on 25 January through 4 Febuary.

Even though Thailand is the host country but should be careful as other country's boxers are developed their skills.

But the most interesting was Filipino boxers who created scandals during last year's Asean Games.

News became bad joke when Virat Vachirarattanawong of Phetyindee Boxing immediately deny he would joined with Songchai Rattanasuban for the new and third boxing stadium.

It is not easy to have the third standard stadium because the two stadium - Rajadamneun and Lumpinee who have been supported by fans for more than five decades still have problems and could not return to glaorious days as in the past.

Thai fans will keep watching wheather the country will have new champions or not while Phetyindee Boxing will start by supporting Pongsaklek Kratingdang Gym to challenge Neito Deisuke of Japan in March in Tokyo.

While Denkaosan Kratingdang Gym will return to Japan for another fight with old rival, Takefumi Sakata.

Two Muaythai fights had passed, Thai boxer, Kaoklai Kannorasing, was done well in the fight in South Korea, beating host boxer easily while Chaovalit Joggy Gym disappointed the fans losing to Bruce Macy of Australia by points in Hong Kong.

Attachai Fairtex and Danthai Singmanas will be fight in the third Muaythai fight held in France.

Thailand became famous for South Korean boxers come for training. The K-1 2007 champion Su Kwan Lee was training hard before the fight against Eric Kaewsamrit of Holland in Bangkok's Lumpinee stadium.

Muaythai matches were held regularly after the mourning period for the late Princess Galyani was over.

Thai musical and tough matches were charms that draw fans not only in Thailand but also around the world.

Those two things are the best reasons that foreigners want to hire original Muaythai boxers to show the real arts.

When talk about Muaythai performance trips, no one will be more popular than Buakhao Por Pramuk which earn about one million baht per fight. He will become next boxing millionaire.

While another veteran boxers like Yodsanklai, Attachai Fairtex, Sirimongkon Singmanasak, Khaoklai Kannorasing, Chaowalit Joggy Gym were on queue to travel aboard and waiting to become next millionaire.

This period of time is “Golden Opportunity” for boxers.

Even the boxing matches suspended for more than two weeks but the conflict between Big Boss, Chalermpong Chiewsakul, and Big Song, Songchai Rattanasuban became the “hot issue” for Rajadamneun boxing stadium in which several people keep monitoring as it shows no sign of compromise.

If both sides deny to seek reconciliation, it will turn to more serious problem which will lead to unhappy ending.

When that time comes, it will be “another” historic problem which will be widely discuss among boxing people and fans.

For another boxing stadium, Lumpinee, Theera Kraipanon, speaks clear that he will re-organize the stadium to select only best promoters.

Lumpinee promoters need to show their best performances to keep their quotas and becomes one among eight promoter.

No one will be more happy than boxing fans who will have chance to watch best matches.

Wednesday, 16 January 2008

Muaythai matches have been suspended for two week, the first match held is expected to draw record number of fans.

Muaythai is one among best sport which is acceptable around the world.

Japan was tried hard to make K-1 becomes the popular tournament by awarding huge amout of prize but even K-1 tournament was mix with several fighting arts but Muaythai is still famous art to learn.

Many boxers who will join K-1 always train in Thailand or hire former Muaythai boxer to become their trainers.

For example, superstar Mazato trained with Nuephet Samhomsin before joined the tournament last year while Hiroya, another famous boxer, also trained at Kaewsamrit camp but many of them always said they were training kickboxing, not Muaythai.
