Nong Toom, Parinya Kiartbussaba, a transsexual boxer from Thailand, was more concerned on her beauty than winning her opponent. Along all three rounds in the ring, Nong Toom was more on defensive fight with arm-protecting her face and chest waiting for a gap to land some kicks. However, she could not resist the offensive power of Jorina Baars, 19-year-old straight female boxer from the host country.

After being attack excessively, Nong Toom seemed to be wobbly at the end of the match and gave a triumph on point to the Dutch opponent in front of throng of fans in a boxing event in Arnhem, Amsterdam, Holland on October 14. Nonetheless, she still has high spirit to practice more and come back to regain her fame again.

Though she has undergone sex-change operation, Thai lady boy kick boxer, Nong Toom, Parinya Kiartbussaba, still received interest from Holland’s promoter inviting her to fight with their local straight female boxer, Jorina Baars (19) who has never lost according to her boxing record. Nong Toom and her “Sia-Lek S.K.V.Gym” left Thailand since October 9 to help promoting this event. Nong Toom’s team has been taken good care from the organizer who also took them to promote in TV program. In her weight test, Nong Toom was in her normal cloth; therefore, she had to handle certain amount of Jorina Baars’s weight.

After the first bell, Nong Toom fully guarded her face and tried to land some kicks to stop offensive fight of her bigger opponent who threw punches and kicks continually. Nong Toom tried to avoid the inside by pushing Baars out which elbow shot is prohibited in this match. Nong Toom moved around the outside avoiding direct attack but still got hit at the face.

The second round was in the same format as round ond. Nong Toom continued her defensive game by landing some knees. But her smaller body was still her disadvantage and allows Baars to bombard her with counterpunches and knees that threw her to the string. It has been clearly seen that Nong Toom seemed wearied in this round.

Round three: Final round was still an enjoyable one when Baars aggressively marched in pounding her opponent with versatile arsenal while Nong Toom has nothing to stop Baars except defending herself by moving away, especially bringing the arms up to guard her face. Though she tried to land some kicks but her boxing weapons were not hard enough to resist powerful boxer from the host country. The referee ended the fight by raising the hand of Baars to be the victor of the fight among the fans applause while Nong Toom showed sport spirit, congratulating with the winner.

After the event, Nong Toom revealed to the press that she was less prepared for this fight. During the fight, she had to beware of the powerful punch of her opponent. She was afraid to be hit on her face, so she tried to move around the outside landing some weapons but still could not stop her opponent. However, she will keep on fighting and training harder because the organizer is still interested in contacting her to have the next fight.
