The Thai promoters return home happy from the 46th World Boxing Council (WBC) convention in Chengdu, China, as they have sealed deals for various matches. Promoter Wirat Wachirarattnawong, also know as “Sia Nao”, of Petchyindee Promotion has received the WBC approval to arrange the title match of Oleydong Kratingdaenggym (Oleydong Sithsamerchai) and strawweight champion Pornsawan Por Pramuk on November 27 at Phitsanulok. The winner of the match would likely receive a rest period before fighting with “interim” champion Juan Palacios. Another fighter of Wirat’s, Panomrunglek Kratingdaenggym, will fight Naito Daisuke if the Japanese flyweight champion successfully defends his title from a fellow Japanese boxer at the end of this December. Suchart Pisitwuttinan of Nakorn Luang Promotion said the WBC has approved the match of David Nakorn Luang Promotion (Devid Lookmahanak) and Evans Mbamba on December 5. The winner of the match would challenge super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan if he still holds the title. Thong Por Chokchai will have a chance to challenge for the super featherweight title if the Thai is able to defeat top contender Urbano Antillon from the US. Promoter Priyakorn Rattanasuban has attempted to have her boxer Chonlatharn Or Piriyapinyo (Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo) challenge featherweight champion Oscar Larios. The Mexican boxer was interested in her proposal but the deal has not been officially confirmed. The managers of US super lightweight champion Timothy Brady and Thai boxer Sirimongkol Singwangcha have discussed on the possibility to arrange a match of the two fighters, but Sirimongkol is already scheduled to fight a Mexican opponent in Las Vegas on November 22. The next WBC convention, which will be the 47th, would be held in South Korea’s Jeju, a UNESCO world heritage site. |
