Saddam defends ABCO title against Jaca

ABCO lightweight champion Saddam Sam-k Battery will defend his title against Filipino challenger Jimrex Jaca on Wednesday October 22.

Held at Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University in Nonthaburi, the match will be broadcasted by Channel Seven network from 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Both Jaca and the Thai champion, who is also known internationally as Saddam Kietyongyuth, passed the physical and weight examination on October 21 at Paolo Hospital in Bangkok.

Saddam’s new manager, Australian Daniel Potter, said the Thai boxer would try to knock out Jaca quickly as he has already seen Jaca’s fighting style when the Filipino came to Thailand to fight Yodsanan Sam-k Battery, also known as Yodsanan Sor Nantachai, in June. Jaca was knocked out in the sixth round.

Potter said he would arrange for Saddam to fight in the U.S. after the Thai boxer has defended his title for a few more bouts in Thailand.

According to the manager, Saddam’s next bout will be at Koh Pangan in Surat Thani on December against either an Australian challenger or WBO Asia Pacific champion Bobby Pacquiao, the younger brother of the superstar Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao.
