Promoter Kokiet Panichayarom says he will punish Ratanachai Sor Vorapin for kicking an opponent in a boxing bout in the Philippines last week by suspending the Thai boxer from fighting for six months.

According to the earlier report, Ratanachai shocked the Filipino boxing audience in the eleventh round at a WBO international match in Cebu, the Philippines, on May 28, when he high-kicked opponent Ramie Laput, an action that caused him to lose the match by a foul.

His promoter Kokiet recently said Ratanachai's action is considered serious and warrants a six-month suspension from boxing, although he explained that the upset Thai boxer thought Laput intentionally clashed heads with him and attempted to attack him with a knee strike.

"I am confident that Ratanachai is willing to examine himself [regarding the kick]. But the man did not break any law, and he has a family to feed. He succumbed to impluse and now he is seen by the society as wrongdoer," said Kokiet.

"Ratanachai is not a top boxer under me, so there would be no problem if he had to quit boxing for the rest of life. I would like to ask everyone to help judge whether he should quit boxing for good after the six-month suspension."

ล่าสุดเสี่ยโก้ออกมากล่าวว่า กรณีของรัตนชัยนักมวยในสังกัดทำเรื่องไม่ดี ซึ่งถือว่ามีความผิดรุนแรงไปเตะคู่ชกมวยสากล โดยอ้างเหตุผลว่า คู่ชกใช้ศีรษะชนและยังชกซ้ำโดยตนเองคิดว่านักมวยฟิลิปปินส์ใช้เข่า จึงเตะสวนไป ตนยอมรับว่ารัตนชัยมีความผิดมากต้องมีบทลงโทษพักการชก 6 เดือน แต่ก็ยังเชื่อมั่นว่า รัตนชัยพร้อมที่จะพิจารณาตัวเอง แต่เขาไม่ได้ทำผิดกฎหมาย เขามีครอบครัวที่ต้องดูแล เป็นเพียงอารมณ์ชั่ววูบบันดาลโทสะ ขณะนี้เขาตกเป็นจำเลยสังคม จึงอยากให้ทุกท่านร่วมพิจารณาว่าความผิดในครั้งนี้หลังจาก 6 เดือนแล้ว ควรให้เลิกชกมวยต่อไปหรือไม่
