Joe Calzaghe to fight Roy Jones on November 2

Joe Calzaghe has officially confirmed his much anticipated fight with Roy Jones Jr. on November 2 in New York City.

Calzaghe, a British boxer from Wales, is currently the super middleweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO), while Jones, regarded as one of the greatest modern American boxers, is a former world champion who has held various titles in four different weight classes.

The British boxer, now 36, will have to gain weight to fight in the light heavyweight Ring Magazine title match on Saturday November 2 at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

“I have followed the boxing path of Jones and have always been his fan. Ultimately, we have respect on each other. You all will certainly get to watch a great fight,” said Calzaghe.
