After Singha Beer opened a Muay Thai clinic for tennis players taking part in the Thailand Open in Bangkok, German Benjamin Becker, world tennis No 79 player, last Wednesday seemed he fell in love with Thai boxing.
On September 26, Singha Beer, the main sponsor of the 2007 Thailand Open,held a special activity for professional tennis players taking part in the tournament at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani. Former Olympic gold medalist Somluck Khamsing and Charoenthong Kiatbanchong, the 1993 WMC lightweight champion, became the trainers for those professional tennis players on the third floor of the Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani for two days (September 26 and 27).
On the first day, Benjamin Becker took part in the activity. Commenting on the activity, Becker said, Actually, I was interested in Thai boxing long times ago, but I jus tried out for the first time here. I think to take the sport is not easy. You have to use more energy and you find it more tiring than playing tennis. However, you must believe in yourself that you can make it. If you take it seriously, you will be much stronger.
