Busan World Tracks Games 2008 opening on 26 September, The 4th Muaythai amateur boxing for the world champion was also included. Many boxers from more than 160 countries gathered to compete. After the result of drawing of male boxer team from Thailand, Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan, President of International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA) believed that they can win easily because of the serious practice. ,

The 4th Muaythai amateur boxing for the world champion started to compete on 27 September at Zajig Indoor Stadium, Pusan.  His Excellency General Pichitr Kullawacijaya will be the chairman of the the opening ceremony. Phanupong Tunjad from Thai team will compete in 63.5 kg division.

The Muang Thai on September 27 at Siam Om Noi stadium, the main fight was the 115 pounds between Rithidej Wor Wantawee and Rungpet Wor Rungniran. During an early bout, Rungpetch gave a strong kick and towards the end, Rungpetch got a chance to give the kick send Rithidej cannot do anything. After five bouts, Rungpetch won on points and won the title.

Tickets of the fight of Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao have been sold out in just hours after the release.

The so-called mega fight will be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on December 6. Despite the large capacity of the stadium that can hold 16,000 spectators, the tickets for the matches were sold out, except for a small number of seats, in just hours after its release on September 24, making it the second highest ticket sales of any boxing bout.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer estimated that the total sales value of the tickets would total about 17 million US Dollars (578 million Baht) as the De La Hoya vs. Pacquiao match is one of the most anticipated boxing fights of the modern time.

Oscar De La Hoya has decided to hire trainer Nacho Beristain to prepare him for the fight with Manny Pacquiao.

American superstar boxer De La Hoya, who has claimed six different world titles, is confident the experienced Beristain would be able to help him win the fight in Las Vegas on December 6, as the trainer is familiar with his opponent Filipino champion Pacquiao.

De La Hoya had to search for a new trainer when his long-time mentor Floyd Mayweather Sr. left him three weeks ago to train English champion Ricky Hatton who is scheduled to fight Paulie Malignaggi on November 22, also in Las Vegas.

A book on life of Beijing Games gold medalist boxer Somjit Jongjohor will be released on October 9, says Thai boxing chief.

President of the Amateur Boxing Association of Thailand (ABAT) General Taweep Jantararoj said the association has allowed Advance Agro plc., also known as Double A, to publish the pocketbook-sized biography that will detail the life of the flyweight boxer and his family.

General Taweep said he would consult lawyers on the responses on the unauthorized books that were available in the market, as all the national athletes have signed a two-year contract with ABAT on the rights of such books.

PABA champion Rattanapol Korkietgym is prohibited by his promoter to fight in the southern provinces due to fear that the politically-active boxer could anger the anti-government southerners.

Rattanapol, who was publicly know for his support of a controversial former prime minister and for his public appearance to the street protesters, triggered a riot at the ring in Phattalung earlier this month. The angry local crowds, who were anti-government, seized the stage where Rattanapol was supposed to fight.
