Muaythai promoter Suvit “Yuri” Koyyuenyong says he does not pay attention to the criticism that he has unfairly gained more event time slots from Ratchadamnern Stadium than more prominent promoters.
According to earlier reports, veteran promoter Songchai Ratanasuban announced that he would not participate in an upcoming grand muaythai event because he felt that Ratchadamnern was treating him unfairly by allocating more event schedules to two other promoters with arguably less prominent status, one of whom is Suvit.
Suvit, however, said he is proud to be one of the 27 promoters affiliated with the stadium despite the criticism, believing he has earned his position by putting his best efforts in all of his muaythai events since day one.

Thailand’s Ratchadamnern Stadium has announced it would spend nearly 200 million Baht on an ambitious project to upgrade its facilities as well as adding more buildings to the complex.
The construction has already started since October 1 but the stadium executives and the contractor just signed an agreement on the project on October 29. Upon completion, the stadium would boast brand-new two commercial buildings, a mixed-use building, and a parking garage.
It will also invest on repairing the stadium itself, allocating space for recreation, improving the landscape, and adding a number of new shops and a muaythai museum.

Sakchai Tapsuwan, chief of one of the two rival muaythai associations in Thailand, has proposed to have a neutral and respected individual to helm the new organization that will be created by merger of the two long-time enemies.
The Muaythai Association of Thailand (MAT) and Amateur Muaythai Association of Thailand (AMAT) have had a long history of rivalry, with each relentlessly trying to lobby various authorities in its favor while obstructing each other in many ways possible, often at the expense of the sport and the country, such as at the recent Asian Martial Arts Games when muaythai events only received official endorsement at the last minute.
As a result, the upset Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), whose multisport events were impacted by the fighting, has requested the two associations to merge with each other within this year, but troubles ensue as AMAT president Sakchai and his MAT rival, Santipab Intarapat, have again engaged in a new round of squabble over who should helm the new organization.

Muaythai promoter Songchai Ratanasuban says he has refused to allow any of his fighters to fight in the upcoming Lumpini-Ratchadamnern cross-stadium event as retaliation to the treatment he received from the executives of the two stadiums.
According to the earlier reports, the much-anticipated third event of the popular muaythai series planned for this month may fail to be realized as the highly influential Songchai declared he would not participate even if that would cause him his job with Ratchadamnern.
Songchai told Muay Siam newspaper that he was upset with Ratchadamnern’s earlier decision to grant more event slots to two other promoters, one of whom is his long-time rival Chucharoen Rawee-aramwong. Songchai, believing that his contribution to the Ratchadamnern has not been rewarded, sarcastically said the stadium should not try to ask for help from “promoter number 3”.

Japan Boxing Commission (JBC) is getting tough on the promoters looking to arrange for non-Japanese boxers fighting in that country as a response to the recent death of Thai boxer Sakai Jockeygym.
The JBC has reportedly announced that all relevant figures in the Japanese boxing circle must adhere to its regulations, which require foreign boxers to provide certification, health examination result, fight record, and other documents to the JBC prior to their matches.
In addition, the boxers must always be accompanied by their managers or individuals authorized to make decisions in emergencies. This is seen as a response to Sakai’s case, as the Thai boxer was not accompanied by his manager when taken to the hospital where he would pass away from brain hemorrhage three hours later.
Sakai’s death came after the losing the match against Kazuyoshi Niki in Fukuoka on October 12. His funeral in his hometown in Thailand was attended by JBC’s representative.

Muaythai fighters Kaimukdam Sit O and Palangpon Piriyanoppachai have agreed to fight under their new manager Chucharoen Rawee-aramwong.
The two fighters earlier petitioned the Office of the Boxing Sport at the Sports Authority of Thailand to intervene when their former manager “Sia O” signed a deal to transfer his rights to Chucharoen. The fighters reportedly did not want to move away from their families in Buri Ram to join Chucharoen’s gym in Bangkok.
The boxing officer, however, mediated a successful talk between the fighters and their manager on October 21. The parties now agree that the fighters will continue to practice at the facility in Buri Ram but they will fight under “Chuwattana” ring name with Chucharoen as their official manager.

The planned third event of the popular Lumpini-Ratchadamnern cross-stadium muaythai series is facing a serious trouble as Ratchadamnern’s most influential promoter Songchai Ratanasuban has refused to allow any of his fighters to participate in the event.
Following the first two highly successful events, the two stadiums have been working together to plan the next event at Lumpini in November, according to the earlier reports.
However, the much-anticipated grand mauythai event may have to be scrapped as Songchai refused to attend the organizers’ meetings, while declaring in his radio show that he would not let his fighters fight in the event.
“They didn’t let my fighters fight at Lumpini, but now they want my fighters for this cross-stadium event. I am not involved with the planning of this,” he said.
