On 28 Nov. Kunyhing Kasama Varawan Na Ayuthya, secretary of committee of the Basic Education Commission  said that Office of the Basic Education Commission  was assigned from the Ministry of Education to control closely and formally assigned educational institutes to obey three orders that were: not allow all educational institutes to hold any boxing event, not allow teachers to bring less than 15 year of age students to fight in professional boxing match and assigned all educational institutes to suggest students and their parents that fighting had effect on their health especially brain system, memory and sight. Doctor would be asked for help to give suggestion  and knowledge
about the suffering. Recently, The committee of Tourism and Sports, the Senate and the Parliament agreed that formal assignment was too strict and not support Thai culture and should be given up. Thus Kunyhing Ksama would like to give some information.

Khaosai worries about home advantage for Denkaosan's match with Sakata PDF Print E-mail

The home advantage of the opponent will be a big concern for Denkaosan Kratingdaenggym when he fights WBA flyweight champion Takefumi Sakata in Japan in December, says trainer Khaosai Galaxy.

Khaosai, a former champion who held a WBA title for eight years before retiring, was recruited by Denkaosan’s manager to become a trainer of the boxer for the bout with Sakata, scheduled on December 31 in Japan.

The boxing legend said Denkaosan is physically ready as he has been in an intensive training program that includes daily jogging of 10 kilometers and sparring with top fighters.

PBAT to host talk between Samson and Chuwong PDF Print E-mail

The Professional Boxing Association of Thailand (PBAT) will host a talk between female light flyweight boxer Samson Sor Siriporn and promoter Chuwong “Eddie” Tumkit on their dispute and alleged loss of WBC title.

Promoter Naris Singwangcha will act as the mediator in the talk, which will also be joined by Narongwat Buamad, Samsan’s manager.

The dispute of the Samsan and her promoter became headlines when the fighter told the media that Chuwong withheld payments for her WBC title bouts as well as preventing her to fight in other matches.

Terdsak defeats Joel de la Cruz PDF Print E-mail

Thai boxer Terdsak Poon-insee Gym (Terdsak Jandaeng) has defeated Joel de la Cruz of the Philippines by unanimous decision and won the “vacant” WBO Oriental super featherweight title on November 30.

Two other Thai boxers, however, were defeated by the Filipino opponents in the event in Cebu. Sirichai M-Roihasip Ekchumpon (Sirichai Kokietgym) was knocked out by Fedirico Catubay in the eighth round, while Theppabut Sithkosol was also beat by Rolando Magbanua in a TKO in the third round.

The following is the translation of the meeting report of the Lumpini Stadium board meeting on November 10, 2008, at the Army Club, Bangkok, which was hosted by the new stadium chief Major General Chalermkiat Photongnak and attended by Lumpini promoters.

All units and individuals associated with the stadium will implement the following tasks and duties which were agreed upon by the meeting attendees.

1.More concrete action to support the training camps and fighters to survive the current economic conditions will be encouraged. A seminar will be held for the camp managers to inform them of the stadium rules, relevant laws, and appropriate payments to the fighters as well as to allow the managers to speak out on their problems.

2.Stadium operations that are related to income and benefits must be in according to the stated goals. Contracts related to rights and benefits must be done with prudence and must be considered by the rights and benefits committee of the stadium.

3.The stadium will build good relationship with other stadiums as well as providing corporation in all aspects that will help each stadium, promote the muaythai arts, or benefit the muaythai fans.

4.The Lumpini champions can fight at another stadium only in according to the regulations of 1999, which allows such champions to fight at Lumpini or at a makeshift stadium, but only for a world title match, and only with Lumpini judges and observers.

Professional Boxing Association of Thailand (PAT) has announced it would hold a muaythai event to honor His Majesty the King at Sanam Luang on December 4, 2008.

Seven World Professional Muaythai Federation (WPMF) matches, out of the total 25 planned for the event, will be broadcasted by Channel Five Network from 11.00 p.m. to 1.00 a.m. of the next day.

The first of the broadcasted bouts would be the fight of WPMF male light heavyweight title holder Ismael Gret of France and challenger Middy KB One Gym of Canada.
